You are warmly invited to attend two opera concerts given by talented singers from the Royal Academy of Music in London, which will be held at the Banque de Luxembourg in July 2021. The exact dates of the performances will be confirmed soon.
The young artists will bring you excerpts from operas by Mozart, Händel, and Haydn, performed within the intimate surroundings of the auditorium of the Banque de Luxembourg.
These unique events, which mark the first time that students from the Royal Academy of Music perform in Luxembourg, will be followed by a reception in the parvis and garden of the Banque de Luxembourg.

Musical Director
Gary Matthewman is a British song pianist and conductor. His recent and forthcoming appearances in recital with singers include Wigmore Hall London, Carnegie Hall New York, Musikverein Vienna, Philharmonie Paris, Bolshoi Theatre Moscow, and in Toronto, São Paulo, Hong Kong and Sydney. Recital partners to date include Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Sumi Jo, Joyce DiDonato, Mark Padmore and Sir Thomas Allen. As a conductor he has worked for Glyndebourne, Birmingham Opera Company, and Cape Town Opera. He is Professor of Vocal Repertoire at the Royal College of Music and song coach for the Jette Parker Young Artists at the Royal Opera House.
Tenor
Alexander Gebhard is a versatile, young Luxembourgish tenor who is making a name for himself as an original performer in concert, song, and opera. His broad repertoire ranges from baroque masterpieces, via classical and Bel Canto repertoire to compositions of the 20th and 21st centuries. He began his musical education at the Luxembourg City Conservatory in the Pueri Cantores Boys Choir and in the studio of Marie-Reine Weirig. He is currently studying on the Master's programme at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Prof. Raymond Connell and Prof. Jonathan Papp as a RAM/Kohn Foundation Bach Scholar.
